The history and heritage of Forgotten Valley Cheese started in our homeland, Switzerland. Billi Lehner came to Wisconsin and purchased the cheese factory with the intention of bringing “old world artisan cheese” to the United States. His vision was successful! In 1979 Billi partnered with his son Hans. 15 years later, Hans and Denise Lehner purchased the cheese factory from Billi.
Today, the artisan made cheese factory is run by Hans and Denise’s children, Hans and Gabriela and their son-in-law Patrick. This third generation is carrying on the legacy started by Billi and still making World Champion Artisan Cheeses.
